Posted - 29 Jan 2012 : 21:12:00 Hi. I have accepted a conditional offer from Plymouth! It was my first choice university (and Chester as my insurance.) Has anyone else applied to Plymouth?
I am interested to know all there is to know about the course, if anyone is currently studying at Plymouth I would love to hear about it! I am super excited! |

Posted - 15 Jul 2012 : 18:23:54 30 weeks sounds about right for first year as you still get a long summer holiday and a month off for easter and xmas. It might be more like 45 for 2nd and 3rd year. I think we found out when our placements were in Jan/ feb time, it is completely random where and when you get, some people started the monday after exams finished in May, some poeple dont finish til the end of August. |

Posted - 15 Jul 2012 : 14:42:55 I have recently heard from NHS bursaries and it seems that my amount has been calculated for 30 weeks in attendance, would I be correct in thinking ours is 45 weeks including placement? Apparently if our course is 45 weeks then the bursary people will be informed by Plymouth University and when they do, the bursary amount will be re-calculated.
Also would any current students be able to tell me when the first placement takes place? I read July, August, or September so how do they decide when yours will take place and at what point do you find out when and where your placement will be?
Thank you. |

Thanks so much. Your information is very detailed and clear. Just want to ask if you are in your second or final year at Plymouth? Do you enjoy the course overall? =) |

Posted - 07 Apr 2012 : 13:14:46 hey Karina
1st semester we were in monday (5hrs), tuesday (4hrs), wed just the odd week, thurs just the odd week and fri just the odd week so basically monday and tuesday were full enough days
2nd semester monday (5hrs), tuesday (4hrs), wed (2hrs), thurs (4 some weeks), fri (2-4hrs)
you don't get a choice on placements they are all just picked at complete random but think you get somewhere different for each of the 3 placements.
hope this helps a little

Posted - 05 Apr 2012 : 22:16:05 Can any current student in Plymouth Uni please tell me what the timetable looks like in Year 1 for the whole academic year?
Also, for those placements.. Do we get the choice which location we want to stay and work during our placements? Do we usually get our first choice for the location?
Is it very expensive if I rent an 1-bedroom apartment because I am looking for the Estate Agents online? Anyone living in an 1-bedroom apartment rather than student accommodation?
Sorry for lots of questions :( Thanks for the help!

Posted - 25 Mar 2012 : 11:28:26 Hi Faye, I'm really sorry to hear that you were rejected... I recommend ringing the Uni and asking for feedback as to why you did not qualify, maybe ask is there anything else you can do. Getting feedback and showing an interest will only help you in the future. Best of luck with your other applications xx |

Posted - 16 Mar 2012 : 15:11:26 Hi faye,
I know it certainly is fantastic to speak with other people that want to study dietetics too. i think I would be cracking up without this forum!! I'm still waiting on replies :(
That's brilliant that you have an interview with Herts, just prepare as much as you can for it, and try to forget about the other uni's until after the interview. When is it on? x |

Posted - 16 Mar 2012 : 14:37:11 Hey Indulgent foodie,
Ah thanks very much its just hard because i applied to pg aswell and i have been rejected by all accept have not heard from leeds, QMU and Ulster but from i can tell from everyone else leeds looks like a no too!! Its difficult when you keep getting no one after the other!!! Out of the UG have an interview fro Herts so this is really my only option, but i would be delighted to get it!!!!
How are you getting on?? Im so glad there is this forum at least i know im not the only who is feeling like this!!

Posted - 16 Mar 2012 : 10:37:02 Hi Faye,
I'm sorry to hear that your application was unsuccessful in Plymouth. I know that it is very disheartening, especially when you want to study dietetics so much. Are there a few more uni's that have yet to get back to you?
