Did you hear back from Nottingham? Can I ask what kind of things they asked you at interview?

Posted - 01 May 2012 : 21:46:38 Hey flopsy
Ditto to all the above - it took about 2 months for me to hear back re: my access course so really don't worry, they are as busy as they say they are but with your committment and dedication I am certain you will be fine and come across excpetionally well when you eventually do get an interview! Hang in there :o)

Posted - 24 Apr 2012 : 11:50:48 Yes the exact same position! I really can't see myself finding £9000 for the year and really don't want to have to when I am under the impression I won't have to pay for the access course.
Where are you applying for access? I applied to Leicester College over a month ago and rang yesterday as I still hadn't heard anything. They said there has been a large amount of applicants this year and I should hear within the next 2 weeks for an interview. Made me quite nervous about gaining a place to be honest, my only other option is Peterborough College for the Access to Science as theyre the only places that are accessable for me to travel to that offer the course!
Having said that, it will be nowhere near as nerve racking as applying for Dietetics at Nottingham - it's the only place thats close enough to home so I, like you, can only go there. From what I have read online it's so competitive! Lets hope all these work experience / shadowing days I am ringing and emailing about pay off! :)

Posted - 20 Apr 2012 : 23:03:30 Hi flopsy
I am HOPING to do an Access to Science course - my interview is in a few weeks time so fingers crossed! I was looking into doing the Foundation to Science at Nottingham but that would have meant waiting another year and spending £9000, I just couldn't do it, even tho it would bypass the UCAS part of the application. What about you, are you in a similar position?

That's awesome news! (Fingers crossed still obviously).
I'm really pleased for you, do let us know when you hear confirmation, and try not to hassle the postman too much ;op
Best wishes

Posted - 15 Mar 2012 : 18:51:55 Hi bumblebuzz,
Aww, thank you! haha. The interview went pretty well i thought. Questions weren't really hard (everyone in the group agreed and seemed to come out quite pleased), perhaps they were testing your confidence and approach more so? Not quite sure. But should hear a reply from Notts by the end of late next week. Very excited and just want to know how I did now! >.< Eric |

Posted - 20 Feb 2012 : 13:30:06 Hi
I am looking to send in my application for MNutr at Nottingham later this year (to start in Sep 2013 - although it seems aages away at the moment I know I need to start prepping early).
I am in the process of applying to an Access to Science course and hope to start that this Sep. Anyway....having read these posts I am really nervous about the questionnaire to get onto the MNutr (tough with 4 !!!! :os) and was wondering if you could provide some examples of the questions if that's not too cheeky. Alos, do you have to complete it all at once or can you check out the questions first and come back to them later? Any insight at all would be most gratefully recieved as I am a Mature Student and MNutr at Nottingham is really my only choice due to travel restrictions etc.
In terms of experience I have signed up to 2 Dietetic department open days and am chasing some work shadowing in addition to applying for some semi-related volunteering roles and really any advice any of you lovely people could provide would really be so kind.
Phew..long post, sorry! x |
