Thanks guys. But I heard back from Coventry and they have given me a conditional offer so its GREAT!! I was starting to worry as I had to add another choice to my UCAS, which was Galsgow. But I've also been invited to an Application open day for Cov Uni,and I'm very excited!
If anyone has already been how is the University and atmosphere?? I think its most likely that I will be going to Coventry as all the other Uni's have declined my offers. Any ideas on which Universities you wanna go to?? |

Well hopefully Coventry, because they've given me a conditional offer and its most likely I will as my other choices have been unsucessfull and I still have Glasgow but I dont think I wanna go up that far... but I'll wait and see.
I am going to the Open day tomorrow though, see what Cov uni has to offer. Good luck with your interview! |

yeah maybe, my dads driving me down there. We booked in for the 9:45 presentation. But I'm not sure what time the other is, I think its 12:45 or 12:15.
Well for expirience, I'm just at College at the moment doing a BTEC Nat in Health and social care. Basically finish the course at around April time. I have had expirience in Hospitals as the course I am on requires me to finish 300 hours of work placement in hospital settings. I'm lucky enough to get some expirience of working and learning from nurses and other health and social care professionals.
As for Dietetics I spent a day with a few junior dieticians who have just qualified and learned a lot from their expirience. So one day I'd like to qualify as a dietician and work abroad maybe.
How about you? |

Hey NHC
It was a realy informal day overall. A few talks, a tour etc then a few people stayed behind for interviews.
Just the two people doing them and a standardised set of questions. Stuff like why do you want to be a dietitian, What you think they do? whats important in becoming one? why Coventry (think they asked that, can't remember) and a few others.
Interviewers were really good though (well, the one i had was) gave you a friendly nudge if you struggled.
Went well for me and got an conditional offer.
I'll also be at the Nottingham interviews on the 10th. I think that this one will be a lot more formal though.
Good luck |

Hi Studentdan,
Thanks for the info and well done on getting a conditional offer..was it one or two people conducting the interview?
How long did it take them to let you know you had an offer after the interview took place.
What makes you say Nottingham will be more formal?
Thanks |

Hi KateD,
You have an early start in the morning then. I checked my letter and it is 12:15pm. So I probably will miss you.
As for experience I was actually a dietetic student at UWIC, however I was ill on my B placement, therefore I didnt want to take a year out so I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Humam Nutrition. At the time it was the right thing to do, however so frustrating now!. I thought I would do the PGC course, however I didn't realise how intense it was to get back into. That is why I am applying for the undergrad again with the hope of being exempt from some modules with APL.
At the moment I work at Staffordshire County Council Scientific Services, a government laboratory. I conduct chemical analysis on food samples to verify nutritional content and to ensure the labelling regualtions apply. However I still want to be a dietitian.
I guess I am having an interview because they want to hear my reason for withdrawing from my B placement and whether they think i deserve another shot?
Anyway hope you enjoy tomorrow xx |

WOW! Damn thats a lot of expirience, food business! and a degree in Nutrition.. haha no the spellings fine. I decided to go early as there might be a bit of traffic when we go back up to Hull..
I was actually offered a Conditional offer from Leeds and Plymouth on a Public Health Nutrition course in case I did not get into any universities, but I've got an offer and I'm gonna take it! lol. Even if its away from home. Don't worry, as Studendan said the interviews are informal and I'm sure you will get an offer with the expirience and qualifications you've got. Whar university are you hoping to go to? Where did you do your first year (Dietetics) and how was it?
Sorry about all the questions, All the best anyway! |

Hi no worriez!!
I did my first degree at University of Wales Institute Cardiff. I was good. Alot of work thou, the firsy year is intensive, I am being honest!! lol..literally 9-5 mon-fri..The first year was heavily science based, to get everyones knowlege up to the same level.
I would be lying if I said it was easy...but if your prepared to put the work in it will be worth it.
I have interviews at Coventry and Nottingham, they are the ones closest to when I live. I have 2 little boys now so I need to stay as local as possible.

Haha really its fine.. But how did your interview go??
The Open day was very good and the staff and students were very welcoming and helpful. And I would like to study there. Its also very convinient as the city centre is just a 2 minute walk from the University!
Although there was only 6 people in our presentation?? Were there many in yours?? The tutors and facilities are also very good. |
