Hi Katrina, I'm also still awaiting a reply, but things aint looking too good. I spoke to someone from Chester today; they still have letters to send out for interviews. However, I was told that if I don't hear anything in two weeks time then consider you've been unsuccessful. I just want to know already, hate waiting myself..

| Im absolutely gutted, I found out I havent got Leeds today, I have put everything into Dietetics, left home to work as a Nutrition Advisor in Nutrition Support(ONS & HEF). I wish I had applied to the U/grad last year or the year before! I would be nearly finished now. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR |

Katrina, Sorry to hear about Leeds. When did you hear from them? I called Leeds last week and was told that applicants would be notified towards the end of the month. It is harsh though, to be told you don't have a place after gaining experience and meeting all other requirements, it's just too competitive!

| I would expect that you will hear from Chester by the end of this week. I attended the first round of interviews on the 4th and heard from them two weeks prior to this. x |

I recieved notification from Leeds today regarding the Postgrad dip. I've been told that I was in the top 25% of applicants (good news) and have been invited to an information day. However, they are unable to make me an offer at this stage and will be notified in the first week of March. Has anyone heard from Leeds RE the postgrad dip??

Hi As, Well done on getting through to the top 25% of applicants. Unfortunately my letter from Leeds (that I also got today) didn't have such good news. Ah well. I'm just wondering what degree you had and did you have much relevant work experience? its just so I'll be able to work on my application for next time. Thanks NiamhN |

Hi Niamh, Sorry to hear that you didn't get a place. I still can't believe how difficult it actually is to get on to these postgrad's! My first degree was in sports, health, exercise and nutrition. In terms of experience, i visited two dietetic departments, managed to get a job as a dietetics assistant, which was part time and im also currently working as an information & support worker within mental health (part time). I guess the dietetic assistant experience really helped, and it gave a very good insight into what a dietitian's job entails. You have to show that you really want to do this, which means trying to get as much experience as possible either paid or on a voluntary basis related to dietetics if possible. Hope this helps and good luck with your application next year.
