I'm originally from Sweden and have used a Swedish software before used by most professionals. Now I'm thinking of continuing with diet advice and nutritional assessments and would like to know what software you recommend. Grateful for all information I can get

| I don't think it's that user friendly tbh, and you have to spell things absolutely correctly otherwise the database claims it doesn't have an item eg it had a problem with one of "cornflakes" or "corn flakes". When I was in the first year I recall losing work that I'd put in before I'd finished or printed. I've also used Compeat and that wasn't brilliant either. I suppose there is not much call to develop software like this, if there was a market then someone would have done a better job! |

Hi
I have diet plan as a freelancer and in the University I teach at and do not find that is a problem at all. It has been updated and is quite easy to use. Never had a problem finding foods or losing info - you can add foods in as well.
I too have used compeat, wisp and microdiet and opted to use dietplan for personal use and in work. I think the key is reading the user guide!

You may also want to try WinDiets. I know this is used by many Universities across the UK for research and training.

| The Clinic has selected clinical nutrition software along with client information to assess nutrient needs. Bioimpedance body composition analysis, computerized food intake analysis software, a measure of basal metabolic rate, medication history, food and drug interaction and laboratory tests are used. In treatment plans the clinic uses individual meal plans based on a clients learning style. Behaviour management strategies may be needed to help some clients reach their goals. |
